AML and Transaction Review Policy
BNBExchange uses transaction screening and case review to assess payments that may involve fraud, sanctions exposure, stolen assets or other prohibited activity. An order without a trading account can still be subject to transaction review.
Circumstances That Can Trigger Review
A case may arise from screening results, inconsistent payment details, unusual transaction patterns or information received about a payment. A signal prompts assessment and does not by itself establish wrongdoing.
An exchange may be held while the relevant information is evaluated. Creating replacement orders or splitting payments is not an acceptable way to bypass a review.
Information Requested for a Case
The team may request information proportionate to the issue being assessed. Depending on the circumstances, that can include:
- An explanation of the purpose of the exchange.
- Evidence of control over a sending account.
- Records establishing the source of funds.
- Identity information where required for the assessment.
Follow the case's designated secure submission instructions. A recovery phrase or private key is never an acceptable document to provide.
Case Outcomes and Returns
The available evidence may allow an exchange to continue, require further clarification or lead to the exchange being declined. The team will communicate the applicable next steps for that case.
A refund is not an automatic alternative to review. Where a return is permitted and technically possible, the destination, amount and applicable costs must be established before funds are sent.
Communication and Timing
There is no universal completion time for every investigation. Missing evidence, an unresolved concern or a response needed from another platform may extend a case.
Use the order identifier in correspondence with [email protected]. Explain if requested records are unavailable rather than submitting unrelated documents.
Handling Review Records
Case information is used for transaction assessment, security and applicable obligations. Access is limited to people and service providers who require it for those purposes.
The privacy policy explains the relevant data categories, retention model and contact channel for privacy requests.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does exchanging without an account exclude identity checks?
No. Verification can be required for a particular transaction even though the standard order flow does not involve a trading account.
Can I require a refund while the case is unresolved?
A review may also restrict the return of funds. The team must establish that a return is permitted and technically feasible before arranging one.
What happens if I cannot supply a requested record?
Explain what is missing and why to the case team. It can assess whether alternative evidence is suitable or whether the exchange cannot continue.
